Safe Work on Roofs (BCPRF2001A)

Course Aims:

The aim of this course is to provide course participants with knowledge of OHS requirements and skills to enable them to work safely on roofs using fall prevention/arrest equipment and appropriate anchorage points.

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this course, the specific skills and knowledge gained will assist participants to competently:

  • Understand and implement legislative and Australian Standard requirements related to height – roof/fall prevention
  • Demonstrate an awareness of other related legislation, code of practice and standards
  • Describe and identify fall hazards in the workplace
  • Asses the risk related to fall hazards in the workplace using appropriate risk assessment methodology
  • Determine and implement measures to control risks related to fall hazards using a hierarchy of control
  • Identify and demonstrate the correct selection, use and maintenance of work positioning and fall injury prevention systems

Prerequisite:

Participants will require a reasonable level of fitness. Participants are required to bring and wear their normal Personal Protective Equipment

Accreditation:

A nationally recognised statement of attainment and laminated card will be given on successful completion of the course
