Qualification for this division requires successful accreditation on one of the following GreenPlumber environmental practices:
- Caring for our water
- Climate protection
- Inspection Audits
- Reused water
- Solar hot water
- Commercial hot water
- Principles of pumps
- Natural wastewater treatment
- Principles of urban irrigation
Members work in domestic, commercial and industrial services and their areas of expertise predominantly include solar hot water, installation of rain water tanks, recycled water, environmental water and energy audits and Greenhouse gas abatement.
Green Plumbers® Training
Green Plumbers® training programs are designed to assist plumbers in understanding their role in relation to Environmental and Public Health, and to provide their customers with up to date information and advise on:-
- latest technology and energy saving appliances
- practical appliances and installation knowledge
- environmental impacts of plumbing services, appliances and household practices
- consumer information
- energy/water/cost savings (short term and long term cost comparisons and environmental benefits)
To date there are more than 9000 plumbers representing over 4000 plumbing businesses that have completed one or more Green Plumbers® training sessions.
- Solar Hot Water Programs are being delivered throughout Victoria
- Large Scale Solar Systems Design Handbook has been developed
